#1 The Valley
Started in the SF Valley, Food Forward is a volunteer powered grassroots group of Angelenos who care about reconnecting to our food system and making change around urban hunger. You might recognize these guys from your farmers markets all around LA. With collections happening in five markets each week, Food Forward averages 15,000 pounds of fresh free produce per month!
Fun Fact: Get out and work for this charity - Join Food Forward where they pick locally grown food from private homes and public spaces which is then distributed to local food pantries and organizations serving those in need. Fun way to get some sun!
#2 Brentwood
Ahead With Horses is Southern California's #1 Center for Developmental Therapeutic Equestrian Vaulting (Gymnatics on a horse). The organization is based in Shadow Hills and a mobile program site at Sullivan Canyon in Brentwood. The first handicapped student was served 45 years ago and more than 100,000 have been served since that time.

#3 Malibu
Malibu is 27 miles of scenic beauty and Sea Save is working hard to keep it that way. Sea Save Foundation strives to protect our oceans by raising awareness and educating people about ocean beauty and advocating change to resolve current challenges.
Fun Fact: Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants is a Celebrity supporter of Sea Save! Well, the actor who voiced the beloved character is at least.
#4 Santa Monica
Walk around Santa Monica to feel the ocean breeze and see yoga pants everywhere! Naam Yoga is a spiritual and physical wellness center where self-healing is the focus. Dedicated to their mission, this nonprofit offers many of their classes and community programs free of charge.
Fun Fact: Ready to explore your spiritual side? This nonprofit offers The Full Moon Ritual to help you let go of unhealthy patterns, send healing to places in need, and open yourself to receive Divine Love. Namaste!
#5 Venice
With it’s world famous muscle beach and boardwalk, Venice is an eclectic community known for its laid-back attitude. Surfers United Recovery Foundation is fighting back against drug use and the stereotype that it is a celebrated part of surf culture.
Fun Fact: For the members of S.U.R.F., getting back in the water was an integral part of their recovery. Surfs up!
#6 Beverly Hills
90210 is one of the most famous zip codes in the world. Known for being home to the rich and the famous, our pick encompasses everything that makes Beverly Hills elite. Started by the wives of Studio Executives, SHARE Inc. has helped raise almost $50 Million in the last 60 years for children's Charities and has grown to a list of over 80 powerful women.
Fun Fact: The SHARE Ladies are known throughout Los Aneles for their Boomtown Show. Held at The Beverly Hilton, over 500 people take part in this truly spectacular fundraiser. (Glitz-out western wear is encouraged)
#7 West Hollywood
Based out of West Hollywood, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24.
Fun Fact: This organization was founded by the creators of the Academy Award-winning short film TREVOR.
#8 Hollywood
Cameras are flashing everywhere the Ladies of Pin-Ups for Vets go - Founded by Gina Elise, Pin-Ups for Vets produces a WWII style Pin-Up Calendar that they deliver to the bedside of hospitalize vetrans and send in care packages overseas. The Award-Winning Nonprofit recently held it's fundraising event, Hollywood Cantina: Slaute & Shimmy, at Historic American Legion Post 43 right by the famous Hollywood Bowl.
Fun Fact: Pin-Ups for Vets has visited 27 states so far on their 50 state VA Hospital Tour where they go bed to bed dressed up as WWII-Style Pin-Up Girls. Go America!
#9 Griffith Park
Griffith Park is a haven for the people of Los Angeles, and Friends of Griffith Park is a great way help preserve our little treasure for future generations. For those who like to get their hands dirty, you can even volunteer to work in the park on special projects. Paradise for the outdoor-fanatic stuck in LA.
Fun Fact: Friends of Griffith Park presents FREE public lectures on the human and natural history of the land. Talk about unique date night!
#10 Downtown LA
Headquartered in Downtown LA, the LAPD are working hard to keep us safe and we think the Eagle & Badge Foundation is doing amazing work to help support their efforts. Founded as the charity-arm of the LAPPL (police union), The E&B Foundation is dedicated to supporting officers, their families and the children in the communities they serve.
Fun Fact: The Eagle & Badge Foundations first grant was to provide an autism service dog for Luke Wilson, son of LAPD Detective II Ed Wilson. Watch The Video Here
